LG Pamerkan Layar OLED Fleksibel 18 Inci yang Bisa Digulung

Perkembangan teknologi panel layar semakin maju.

Linux Note-taking App ‘Springseed’ Refreshes UI

Springseed, the simple note-taking app for Linux that features full markdown support, quietly pushed out a new release over the weekend.
The open-source app is currently only available on Linux, offering users a minimalistic UI  for writing, storing and categorising notes, thoughts, code snippets, and more. Notes can be synced between computers using the built-in Dropbox sync, though this isn’t required to use the app.

Springseed 2.0

Version 2.0, the first stable update since February, refreshed the application’s UI with a darker, angular new look. The light colour scheme and custom window frames of version 1.1 have been replaced by a dark sidebar with large typography, native window borders and a boxier, flatter design with colourful accents in the edit window and high contrast icons.
While there is little in the way of new feature additions, save for a word count in the edit mode, there are various improvements to code syntax support and a batch of miscellaneous bug fixes to help improve stability.

Springseed 2.0 is written in CoffeeScript, and uses Spine.JS and the Atom Shell framework. It’s available as a free download for Ubuntu 13.10 and up using .deb installers provided on the project website

LG G3 Style ‘All In One Circle’ Conky Theme

With a near limitless variety of custom-made themes available for it, Conky has always been one of the best ways to add a splash of personality to any humdrum Linux desktop.
It’s this diversity that has fuelled a great many posts on this very tabloid website over the years. But recently, having glanced back at older items, I noticed something peculiar: few themes are circular.
Enter “All In One Circle Conky” which is, as you’ll no doubt be gobsmacked to learn, a rounded Conky theme. It puts a porthole of information on your desktop, displaying time, date, weather and Wi-Fi strength at a glance.

But as neat as this particular config may be its real plus is that it has been designed to work with the GUI ‘Conky Manager’ tool. We’ve not written a great deal about this utility, which is a little surprising given how easy it makes managing, previewing and tweaking Conky setups on Ubuntu.
So, in an effort to politely nudge two birds with one stale bun, here’s how to install Conky Manager 2 on Ubuntu, and set up this rounded theme.

Install Conky & Conky Manager 2 on Ubuntu

First things first: to use Conky themes you need to have Conky itself installed. You don’t need to go far to get it as it’s available in the Ubuntu Software Centre. Just click the button below to trigger installation.

Next, we’ll grab the handy GUI app that helps us manage themes. It’s not a requirement to use it for this particular theme, but it does make it easier. To install Conky Manager 2 in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS first add the project PPA, then update your sources and install.
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:teejee2008/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install conky-manager p7zip
After installation has completed you can launch the app from the Unity Dash (or your preferred desktop app launcher).

Install and Configure the theme

With all the requirements taken care of the final step is to download the ‘All in One Circle’ theme itself. It’s available direct from the author speedracker’s DeviantArt page.

After the download has completed you simply need to import it into Conky Manager by dragging and dropping the entire .7z archive file into the main app window.
You’ll see a small notification that it installed correctly. Then, select the theme and hit ‘run’.
If you’re installing it manually then a) you’re hardcore and b) you probably know how to proceed. If not, just install the GUI app above as what follows assumes you’re using it.

Tweaking the theme

By default the theme is preconfigured with data that might not be applicable to you (e.g., weather or Wi-Fi) so you’ll need to adjust the config manually.
In Conky Manager, highlight the theme in the app and click the ‘edit’ button to open the config in your default text editor.
To change the weather first load up Yahoo! Weather in your browser, search for your city and copy the 6 digit code in the URL. Back in the text editor, scoot down to the line containing the text ‘http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?w=1103816&u=c’ and replace the stock weather code with the one for your location. To change the temperature unit to Fahrenheit replace the ‘c’ at the end of this link with ‘f’.
To change the Wi-Fi, search for ‘wlan0‘ and replace it with the corresponding wireless device for your active connection (which is likely to be ‘wlan1‘ if ‘wlan0‘ isn’t working).
Lastly, save your edits, return to the Conky Manager app and hit the ‘Run’ button to launch All In One Circle on the desktop.

Rhythmbox Cover Art Browser Plugin 2.0 Hits Beta

Screen Shot 2014-06-29 at 18.01.14

Fans of the Rhythmbox CoverArt Browser plugin will find a bunch of new features have been added in its latest beta, which is now available for testing.
The popular album art viewer now only supports Rhythmbox v3 or higher, so you need to be running Ubuntu 14.04 or later.
New features in Rhythmbox Cover Art Browser 2.0
  • Compact & Full track view toggle option
  • New theming options, including darker toolbar icons
  • Information pane can be hidden
  • CTRL+J shortcut to jump to playing album
  • Type ahead search filtering
New ‘smart continuous playlists’ promise to collate ad-hoc track listings using artists, tracks and genres similar to that playing. This is powered by recommendations from Echo Nest and Last.fm. Data from these sources is also used to populate the Artist & Album information pane — which in this release can, finally, be hidden.
The new features join an already exhaustive existing set, including more choices of album views, such as coverflow, support for viewing lyrics, reading related artist data from Last.fm, and specifying custom genres.

Retro: Coverflow browsing also available

As a beta grade release, there are a few stray bugs and rough edges still in need of fixing. A proper stable release is planned for the end of July so if running potentially unstable software isn’t your thing, you don’t have too long to wait.
Until the plugin is formally released you’ll want to manually install it. But relax: this isn’t as difficult as it sounds.
First, open a Terminal to take care of dependencies:

sudo apt-get install gettext python3-mako python3-lxml python3-gi-cai
ro python3-cairo gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly gstreamer1.0-plugins-good gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad

Provided you’re running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS or later, you can grab the .zip archive below, extract it, navigate inside using the Terminal and run the ‘./install‘ script to install.

After installation has completed just enable the plugin in Rhythmbox through the Tools > Plugins menu.
Note: that for some features to work you will also need to install the ‘Cover Art Browser Search’ plugin. This is available as a Debian installer and is best installed before the main Cover Art Browser plugin.
