Last year, Sony confirmed that the entire line of Xperia Z (including the Xperia Z first, smartphones launched in 2013) will get Android 5.0 Update Lollipop. Unfortunately, the good news is not so good for those who have non Xperia Z handset made by Sony.
According to the official Twitter account of Sony Xperia, Lollipop Android update will be available "only" for the family of Xperia Z. This means that even a smartphone that was launched in 2014 as E3 Xperia, Xperia M2 Aqua, Xperia M2, C3 Xperia, Xperia T3, T2 Xperia Ultra, or Xperia E1 will not get Android updates beyond KitKat.
Hopefully, Sony will change his mind, at least some of the new device (2014) are not going to get a family of Xperia Z Android Lollipop.
Well, the non Xperia Z which was introduced this year by Sony is running Android M4 Aqua Lollipop out of the box, while the Xperia E4 and E4g will get an update shortly after the launch.
