Turkish Government Tightens Use Internet Access






ISTANBUL - Restrictions on the use of the Internet for users in the region of Turkey will now be tightened government. It has been approved by the board of parliament through an Act of government control, on the ratification to block websites without having to go through the process of judicial institutions in advance.

The Turkish government considers that the new regulations were made to suppress and keep the country's resilience, so that local telecommunications agency allows to block websites deemed offensive or violates the privacy rights, and endanger the stability of the country.

The site owner is also given time approximately four hours to shut down access to sites deemed violated, then followed proceed by court order to validate the blocking of the site after 48 hours, quoted from Thestar, Monday (03/23/2015).

Other actions to be taken by the government is imposing huge fines and heavy penalties if violated comply with a court order.

Previously, Turkey also has blocked Twitter and YouTube in March 2014 after noticing Audio recording file deployment involving the prime minister and local officials about the scandal and allegations of corruption in the ranks of the Government.
