LG Develops High-End Processors, With Support Cortex-A72

This is not the first attempt LG produces its own chipsets. Last year LG officially announced their first processor that is Nuclun used as the main processor Phablet LG G3 Screen which was released in October last. Unfortunately, the performance of the processor Nuclun still below average and is believed to be the main cause of failure in the market LG G3 Screen.

According to media reports in the Korean language, claiming LG plans to re-develop its own processor design, LG has been busy developing a high-end processor with the new Cortex-A72 cores rely announced by ARM in early February, to rival the performance of Snapdragon 810 and Exynos 7420 which started its debut on the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Of course, this new processor may not be seen on smartphones before 2016, because the new will be produced this year, and may only be used by LG G5 next year. SoC is designed so powerful with 4-core Cortex-A72 + 4 core Cortex-A53 in octa-core big.LITTLE configuration. ARM also announced a new Mali-T880 GPU together with Cortex-A72 and the possibility of LG is also going to use the GPU.
